Chapter 143 In The Stables

Jake approached the stables, which was in a secluded part of the land that was his.

There were guards around the stables, ensuring that no one without permission would be allowed to enter.

Jake nodded at one of the guards, and kept walking into the place.

"Baron! Welcome!" An old man greeted him.

"Beast Master Moran. How are things going? Have you gotten them to start incubating?" Jake asked.

"Things are going spectacularly. I have never seen these specimens before, but they are interesting. They don\'t need another parent to incubate. They automatically incubate as long as they are put in the right temperatures." Beast Master Moran said.

"And how long will it take for the eggs to hatch?" Jake asked.

"You gave me three different types of eggs, Baron. One of them will take around a month. The second variety, it should take a month and twelve days. But the last tone, the big one, it is a little different." Beast Master Moran hesitated for a moment.

Jake felt his heart tighten.

"Is there something wrong with the egg? It can hatch, right?" Jake asked.

"The problem isn\'t the incubation, Baron. The problem comes with the gestation period. According to my connection with the beast inside, I can feel that it will take a lot of time for the beast to grow."

"How long? Give it to me straight." Jake asked.

"One Year. And that is a conservative estimate."

Jake looked at him blankly.

A year? A year?? That was so much time! But the time a year passed, the expedition to the western world would be over.

"Calm down, Jake. There is a lot of stuff that can be done even after the western world is found." Jake told himself.

He looked at the six different nests that were created. Each of them had their own egg. Out of the ten spots that a basic guild could have, six were taken up by the most terrifying creatures that a guild could possible have.

Jake nodded at the beast master.

"You have done well, Beast Master. Please take a look and see if you can hasten the incubation speed." Jake said.

"I can only do that if I rank up, Baron. But I do have to ask, where did you get this terrifying egg? I have worked with a beast that was as terrifying as the first five that you have brought me, but one look at the larger egg and I know that at its peak, it can cross even the sixth tier. No, at its peak, it can become much stronger." Beast Master Moran shuddered as he spoke about it.

"I know, Beast Master. If this monster becomes even half of what its parent was, I will be completely satisfied. The lineage that this monster comes from is terrifying. It is a powerful beast, that is its destiny." Jake nodded.

There was a reason that he gave up a level for this. There was a reason that he risked losing everything by taking out all of his inventory out and putting in on the ground to run after that egg.

"Fine. I will see if there is any way that I can get a better beast master to help you out. But I will rely on you to get all of these other eggs hatched on time. And after they hatch, how long will it take for them to reach Tier three?" Jake asked.

"Tier three? That will take some time. But sensing their power as they hatch, they will probably be at the peak of the first tier when they are children. But it will take some time for them to develop important features, like their armor." Moran said.

"I am aware."

Jake was able to kill the younglings in the dinosaurs\' cave that day because they were asleep and they had no health, no defense, and even a simple attack could kill them.

"It will take another month for them to reach Tier two, and as for tier three, it will depend on what supplements you can give them." Beast Master Moran said.

"Supplements. That is going to cost me quite the bit, isn\'t it?" Jake smiled bitterly. That was the problem with raising beasts. It was freaking expensive.

Only rich people could afford to foster Beast Tamers and beasts. They were blackholes for resources.

Jake knew that this was the first and last time that he would actively pursue beasts of such caliber.

"Alright. This is going wonderfully, Beast Master. I will leave this place for you. This is all yours now. If you have any problems or need anything, please tell me. And if there are any items that can haste the incubation process then please do tell me. I will try and pursue them." Jake asked.

"If you want an item that can hasten the incubation process… no. That is just a legend." Beast Master Moran shook his head and dismissed the thought before even talking about.

But he already had Jake piqued.

"What is just a legend, Beast Master? What is this item?" Jake asked.

"These are just rumors that have circulated among beast masters for decades, Baron. We just tell this story to new beast masters to keep them on their toes." Beast Master Moran started.

Just listening to this, Jake understood something.

"This feels like a quest that is supposed to go to a beast taming class. Feels like a cheat for someone to tell me this story." He thought inside.

"The first beast master, Norton of the legends, was rumored to have become a beast master because of a blessing from the God of Nature. The God of Nature blessed the progenitor with a cradle. A cradle that could accommodate any beast, and it would grow like no other, incubate like no other." Moran said.

"This is a legendary item, no doubt." Jake said.

"No, Baron. Please do not underestimate what this is. This is no legendary item. This is a Divine item, the power of the gods vested in it."
